Join us for a case study with OMERS on what it takes to select and implement a new risk system. Abdullah Mohiuddin, VP Risk Technology at OMERS will provide first hand experiences from evaluating the market participants to preparing for implementation of a new system.

Risk systems are the backbone of all Investment Risk teams. The success of the team and the value they add is dependent on having a robust risk system that is fit for purpose for the organization. With so many different players in the market, the high implementation risk and cost of switching, changing risk systems is not a decision to be taken lightly. Having recently completed a successful proof of concept, OMERS is now embarking on the implementation of a new risk system in 2022. We wanted to use this as an opportunity to share lessons learnt to help other plans who may be embarking on a similar journey.

Directly following the presentation, a 45 min Coffee Talk will be held where participants in smaller groups will have the opportunity to discuss Risk Systems and further unpack the key items raised during the presentation.
